Streets that we are afraid of walking at late hours or run away, pavements that we sometimes hardly walk, buses that we get on with our pins, Istanbul that we are not included or we can not exist, at the same time Istanbul where we dream…

Signs which show that streets are not belong to one sex or men can also change nappy… Ways going to Arzu Okay Open Air Cinema… Household appliances, running away the squares…

Film, Photography and Design Exhibition by Women as a part of Istanbul 2010 -European Capital of Culture

We, more than thirty women, met at photography, cinema and design workshops in Filmmor on December 2009. While dealing with housework, city in turmoil, life’s troubles, we wanted to share how we live in this city and how we want to live through our photographs, films and designs…

Regardless of housework, city in turmoil, life’s troubles, we wanted to meet with women at streets, beaches, cinemas, bridges, squares beyond thresholds, bazaars and neighbourhoods. We wanted to go out in Istanbul...

With the hope of a future which we can go out in Istanbul in every hour of a day as we wish…
