Filmmor Women’s Cooperative (Filmmor)

Since 2002, for gender equality in cinema, the media and in all areas, Filmmor has done so much.

We’ve been organizing the International Filmmor Women’s Film Festival on Wheels, and giving the Golden Okra Awards, which draw attention to sexism in Turkish Cinema.

We’ve been organizing workshops of cinema, photography, reading film, digital communication and design.

We’ve produced 9 feature films, dozens of short films/videos with women for women, and we continue to do so.

We’ve been organizing exhibitions with illustration and film such as Women Through Women’s Eyes, Let’s Not Be Imprisoned in Housework, Let’s Go Out to Istanbul, Let’s Talk About Honor and Stage is Women’s.

We organize and participate in campaigns such as Stop Sexism in the Media, Femicide is Preventable, Istanbul Convention Saves Lives.

We organize conferences such as Urgent Action to Stop Femicides, Construction of Gender Equality, and For Non-sexist Media; prepare publications, and books such as Guide to Reporting on Femicide, and MorAgenda (Women’s Agenda).

We build platforms for monitoring and visual/oral history such as MEDIZ: Women’s Media Watch Group, and KAHIDEP: Women Rights-Defenders Digital Platform.

We organize visual/video actions such as The Gender Five, U’Sandik: Digital Chest to Not Forget (Femicides).
